It’s always a mad rush when I run out of a trusted product and I haven’t managed to stock up again. It’s usually like this due to my lack of proper planning and that I buy products that are not found in your usual drugstores, so they take some time to source.
In that mad rush last month, desperate to find a trusted green face wash, I came across this beaut in Clicks. The fact that it is 98.5% derived from natural ingredients was the deal maker for me. Looks pretty doesn’t it?
Right, so now to the real question: What is it all about?
Upon closer inspection of the product I realised it was cream based – not something I had tried before. Considering everyone has different skin it would be useful to note that I have sensitive, combination skin with a fairly oily T zone in summer and dry patches in winter – odd, I know. This means it is a real pain to find face products that work for me.
I have never tried a cream based cleanser for the fear that it would aggravate my already oily-ish skin and that it wouldn’t clean my face properly (considering I wear a full face of makeup most days). With it being winter however, I do feel that my skin requires more moisture than it does in the warmer months. Perhaps this would work… Skeptical as I was, I decided to give it a go.
The Verdict
Hello soft, clear, blemish free skin!
It’s been over a month since I have been using this product, twice daily, and I am so impressed! This natural packed product cleans my face beautifully – not the “squeaky clean” feeling but the “soft face clean” feeling – perfect for winter.
Not only are it’s cleaning properties impressive but a little goes a long way, the texture is smooth and the scent is super subtle which is perfect for sensitive skin.
Would I buy this again? Yes and no.
The one issue I had was that it seems to leave a thin residue on your face, which I noticed on the cotton pad when I was using my toner. I also felt I needed to exfoliate my face more regularly when using this face wash.
Additionally I think if I were to use this in summer I would need a face wash that is a little more refreshing and a little less moisturising but overall, for Joburg winter, this is a real winner!
