Energy boost breakfast smoothie!

I absolutely love smoothies and fresh juices! From green and grassy tasting juices to creamy and indulgent smoothies (but still healthy of coarse), I love them all. I try to whip up a smoothie or juice every morning before work as I find it is my favourite way to start the day and it allows me to get in much needed vitamins from fresh food in one drink, chop chop! I can literally feel the difference in my mood and energy levels when I don’t have my daily power boost.

Today I am going to share my favorite energy boosting smoothie for when I really need a ‘pick -me-up’ that I know will sustain me for the morning. It’s also known as my Strawbapaw smoothie – Strawberry, banana and pawpaw. Easy right?

While some people are concerned about the sugar content in eating fruit, I think it’s absolutely fine(in fact, it’s essential) to have fresh fruit, every day, first thing in the morning. By the end of the day the sugars have been burned by your body and you have absorbed the incredible nutrients from the fruit that your body needs. Try to limit fruit intake at night – it’s a definite no-no.

Right, so it’s pretty simple. You will need:

1 small banana.

4 large strawberries

1/2 small pawpaw/papaya

3 table spoons of soy protein

3/4 cup of almond milk

Blend it all together and voila – DELISH.




I choose almond milk as I am not very tolerant to dairy and I just love the taste of it. The added bonus is that it is very low on calories and really healthy. Winning.
